ABSTRACT

A case report : Vertical strabismus after retinal detachments

Male, born June 1963

-94 retina detachment on left eye (refr then -11./+1.50/75). Operated with a Miragel cerclage. The anterior part 11mm from limbus and posterior 18mm from limbus.

-97 redetachment followed by vitrectomy, silicon oil.

-98 Phaco +IOL

-99 redetachment again followed by operation where silicon oil was taken out, gas, endolaser etc. fibrotic secondary cataract had been opened

Today visus 0.05 without correction, refr. about -1.50/+3.75/30, it hardly moves.

After all the previous operations the movements were fine and the alignment ok. It has started to turn up 4-5 yrs ago being unchanged now for about 2-3 yrs. 

The cause of the strabismus, strabisumsuoperation and postoperative results will be shown and discussed.
