ABSTRACT
An unusual type of child-headache.
Casuistic report.
A casuistic report is presented on a 11 year old boy. During the last year he suffered a headache so intense that it was a big problem for him to go to school. Besides itching and burning eyes. Formerly, he was seen at the pediatric departement in the Innland Hospital, East Norway. MR was normal.
Clinical findings: Visual acuity: 1.0 ou. Follicular conjunctivitis ou. Ophthalmoscopy: Surprisingly excavated optic discs were found in both eyes (CD ratios >0.6). Applanation tonometry (repeated): 26/27 mm Hg. Perimetry: arcuate scotomes o.u. Corneal diameters: 11.5 ou.
He was treated with weak Timolol (Timosan depot) - and Sodium-cromoglicate (Lomudal) eye drops with good response on the headache and itching. Details from the investigations and follow up will be presented.
