ABSTRACT

Case presentation

Congenital oculomotor apraxia is a rare disorder, which shows characteristic defects of the horizontal voluntary saccades, and compensatory head thrust. Usually, it improves during the first months/year of life. Speech apraxia and delayed motor development is commonly associated to the disorder.

We present a 5-month-old boy initially referred with signs of delayed visual maturation. At examination, visual acuity was improved, but oculomotor apraxia was found as well as delayed milestones of motor development.
